It is a good game for ps3 as there are not a lot of new-ish racing games since the next - gen consoles took over so a good choice for racing fans.Among racing games, GRID Autosport is better classified as a driving simulator, much like entries in the Gran Turismo franchise. Coming from Gran Turismo 6, some aspects (mentioned above) can seem a bit arcadey but is still a good game in it's own right with other features such as rewinds which adds to the overall experience. However, once you have got used to all of these slight things, the game is quite enjoyable with a different take on the classic racing game of racing for money rather than XP that leads to new teams being unlocked. The AI are quite challenging but you have to choose your difficulty settings carefully depending on the team you are with (For example, I got pole on the single seaters by 2 seconds on medium but came 6th on the hard setting). They also don't respond well to the actions that you give them and seem to be constantly stuck on 'pushing' when I tell them to attack. The teammates I have had have been poor and normally end up in last, which drags the whole team down in championship points, even if I come first. This can make for interesting racing although they do not seem to come back at you straight away if you pass them. Races can be competitive, depending on your difficulty settings, as the AI seem quite aggressive especially in touring when the grid order is reversed in the second race. Graphics are not amazing (but what do you expect from a last- gen console) as there is blurry bits around the car and scenery (damage is also a bit blurry). Crashes are a bit realistic but it is quite hard to cause significant cosmetic or mechanical damage from the races I have been in so far, even with large crashes.

The physics are quite good although steering is a bit twitchy (especially on a controller) and no way that I have found to change this. However, the game play can become a bit repetitive if you have to keep going through the same championship over and over again. Each discipline has it's own unique quirk about it with different cars and teammates. This game has hours of content as you progress through the 5 different disciplines and the GRID championship.
